All you need to know about the main harbours in Hoorn..
Hoorn is known as a waterside town, with great harbour facilities. If you plan to visit Hoorn, there are a few things you have to know. We’ve listed the most important things to know, for you to navigate easily upon arrival.
Toilets & Showers
The toilet and shower building, you can find the “Mallegomsteeg” around the corner of the harbour shop. Here you will find five showers for men and five showers for women. Keep in mind you need the code from your harbour receipt to enter the building.
Waste
In the harbour of Hoorn, you can find the waste containers on the ‘Oude Doelenkade’, the Oostereiland, the Hoofd and nearby the harbour office. If an access code is required for the waste containers, you can find the code on your receipt.
Public & Chemical toilets
Next tot the harbour office (address: Hoofd 2A) you can find a public toilet, which is accessible 24 hours a day. Chemical toilets can be emptied 24 hours a day, behind the harbour office.

Binnenhaven
The main harbor of Hoorn is the ‘binnenhaven’, which holds a very important place in the city’s history. As a key destination in the Dutch Golden Age, the ‘binnenhaven’ was the center of trade. With the arrival of large ships such as the ‘Bontekoe’, it became an important place for business. The harbor holds some of the most beautiful warehouses in traditional style with impressive facades.

Grashaven
Just around the corner of the main harbor and next to Oostereiland, you can find the ‘Grashaven’. More efficient than the old city harbor and a lot more structured, the ‘Grashaven’ is mostly used by boat owners, usually locals and visitors to the city.

Marina Kaap Hoorn
Located 10 minutes from the city center of Hoorn, is ‘Marina Kaap’, which is one of the outskirts harbors of Hoorn. Marina Kaap is a new harbor, compared to the historic harbors of Hoorn and was developed in 2013.

Buitenhaven
Next to the Binnenhaven (central marina), you can find the Buitenhaven. Its the first harbour you will see when arriving in Hoorn, this relatively small harbour in Hoorn holds 35 berths.
